Hostería Los Notros is fully committed to sustainable development and pays due respect to the land and the existing natural resources. Therefore, we have developed an Environmental Management System.
Waste Recycling:We use different processes to minimize waste generation. To this purpose, we have brought along a colony of Californian worms which reduce the volume of organic waste by turning it into lumbricompost, an element which later serves as manure to the lawn surrounding the Hostería.
Water Consumption Management: The water used at the Hostería comes from a waterfall called “Velo de Novia” (Bride Veil), located between the Main Area and the Cascada Area. We kindly ask our guests to comply with the standards in order to reduce water consumption, since this is a non-renewable natural resource.
Sewage Depuration Station: We also feature a sewage treatment plant which comprises an extended airing system. We request our customers´ cooperation in order to make sure the process runs smoothly.
Power Distribution: All our power lines are placed underground, in order not to ruin the magnificent view of the glacier or the natural beauty of the scenery that visitors can enjoy from all corners of the Hostería.
Fuel: The fuel we use to feed the generators is properly stored. As an extra protective measure, we have placed a leakage dish all around the fuel tanks. Likewise, we protect the forest through a fire hydrant system.
Gas Release Management: All rooms at Los Notros are heated by means of hot-water pipes running through the ceilings and radiators-water or electrically powered, which also help us lower gas release.
Personnel Awareness: Our personnel is actively involved in the Environmental Management System. They are periodically trained on preventive measures and actions to be applied in emergency situations. Furthermore, they learn about the precautions to be taken daily regarding the Environment.
